The Mooon Cafe, an ideal Friday night place
I always believe in the statement, “Thank God It’s Friday!” I’m not talking about T.G.I.F. at the Terraces, but because my friends and I had a great time and have dinner at The Mooon last Friday. I will be specific that we visited the IT Park branch. They have 3 existing branches here in Cebu: Guadalupe, The Terraces and The Walk at IT Park.
When I decided to have something to eat at The Mooon Cafe (we simply call it, “Moon”), I really cannot get over their Gambas Ala Luna. The very delicious shrimp in garlic oil and a very generous serving will satisfy your indulgence for food. I haven’t asked the waiter what kind of oil they are using but I guess it’s olive oil or other kind of veggy oil since it does not cover the flavor (so it’s clean) and the power of garlic is the best so far for this dish.
The array of appetizers in the menu is great. Aside from the shrimp in garlic and oil, you can also be tempted with their Calamares Fritos with onion rings and mayo dip for 120Php. They also have the Chicken skin (good for your drinking session, and they serve it along their group of beer orders). To partially complete the line up, their fruits juices are amazing as well. They serve drinks with real fruits in them. So refreshing, you would always ask for one more order when you visit The Mooon Cafe.

The Mooon Cafe’s fruit drinks
Mango Shake, 50Php; Sun Coolers (Small/Non-alcoholic), 80Php
The fruits shakes (my favorite is the Sun Coolers; can be non-alcoholic or alcoholic, but I prefer the non-alcoholic) compliment the main course. The Sun Coolers has watermelon, lemon and orange and they are all fresh. The [drinks] look like well-engineered for their “meat” menu. Simply a rocket science!
Last week, we had a variety of orders to test every thing as possible. Both my friends ordered two of Mooon’s fish menu: Tuna Belly that cost 160Php and the Blue Marlin (160Php). Since I am a meat lover (but I rather have chicken than pork or beef), I ordered the Mexican Baby Back ribs. And I love their vegetable side dish that comes with the back ribs. Each plate is 190Php. Their baby back ribs is also majestic. Right sweetness, tender and flavorful, and the Sun Coolers jives the meat very well.

The ambiance is cool. With the Mexican touch on both interior designs and music (reggae and Latin are played at some time), the “feel” accompanies your stay at The Walk, IT Park. I can tell that The Mooon Cafe can be your choice, too. And plus, they have WIFI connection which I really like about this place.
