Get off the internet and join a workshop with actual, real live people. Join the 2019 Summer Workshops here in Cebu offered by Little Boy Productions, Cebu Literary Festival, and Happy Garaje this summer. There will be seven (7) summer workshops to choose from and they are all scheduled to happen at Robinsons Galleria Cebu and SM Seaside City Cebu.
Theater and Literary Workshops for Kids and Teens this Summer in Cebu
Here are the scheduled workshops at Robinsons Galleria Cebu:
THEATER WORKSHOP
A theater workshop is a fun learning experience. By working together, kids and teens develop creativity, discipline, a sense of accomplishment, and other life skills that last long after the summer has gone. The classes for younger kids will focus on music and movement to channel their energies creatively. The teens class will introduce improvisation, creative dramatics and the basics of musical theater.
The workshops will be led by theater professionals from Manila and they bring with them their years and years of experience working in professional theater with PETA, Repertory Philippines, and Trumpets.
Theater for Kids (ages 4 to 10 years old)
May 9 – 18 (Thursdays and Fridays) 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
The recital will be on May 18, 2019, 4:00 PM, Saturday.
Theater for Teens (ages 11 to 16 years old)
May 9 – 18 (Thursdays and Fridays) 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM
The recital will be on May 18, 2019, 4:00 PM, Saturday.

LIT CAMP: Writing Workshop for Teens
(by Cebu Literary Festival, Therese Villarante, Johanna Michelle Lim)
Discover and develop the craft of writing and express yourself creatively. No experience required. This fun camp combines lectures, writing exercises and workshopping sessions in fiction, essay, poetry and spoken word over four Saturday afternoons. Bring a notebook, pen, and paper or your laptop to write on.
Get to learn about literature, why writers write, the joys of reading, how to find your own writer’s voice, while being yourself and meeting new friends in this unusual and intensive workshop!
The Lit Camp: Writing Workshop for Teens is open to ages 10 to 18 years old. The workshop will be between May 11 to June 1, 2019 (Saturdays) from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
KIDS BOP: Singing and Movement Workshop

Kids will surely have fun as they sing and dance to hits by Justin Timberlake, Alessia Cara, and popular Disney songs in this story-based music and movement workshop conducted by teaching artists from Little Boy Productions (Once on This Island, High School Musical, The Last Five Years) – the only theater company in Cebu that has toured productions from Manila’s top theater companies – Repertory Philippines, Atlantis Theatrical, Actor’s Actors Inc, and SPIT.
The Kids Bop: Singing and Movement Workshop is open for ages 4 to 9 years old, and the schedule is between May 20 – 29, 2019, (Mondays and Wednesdays) from 10:00 AM to 12:00 NN.
STORIES AND ART: Crafts for Little Humans
(by Happy Garaje and Little Boy Productions)
Imagine your stories and create your creatures with paint, mixed media, blocks, and other materials. Four sessions of fun-filled exploration on weekdays or weekends with Happy Garaje, the award-winning design/illustration studio comprised of husband and wife team, Mark Deutsch and Johanna Velasco. Their work can be seen across the fields of graphic design, illustration, gallery work, production design, and picture books, and clients include Disney, Abaca Baking Company, Red Lizard, Ayala Land, and Four Seasons Hotel Marrakesh.
Happy Garaje is inspired by everyday people, heroes, monsters, by the things that all of us hope for and the things that we fear. Dreams, joys, madness, and the things that we love.
