The Chocolate Chamber Boutique is a cacao haven in Cebu City where you can experience an intimate encounter with chocolate and the vibe of hard work from the people who made them. Located at Pres. Quirino St., Barangay Kasambagan, everyone who is enthusiastic about chocolate making should drop by and learn something more about the existence of cacao in the Queen City of the South.
The Chocolate Chamber Boutique
In an endless pursuit of chocolate distinction, The Chocolate Chamber Boutique welcomes chocolate enthusiasts to sample a wide variety of cacao products locally made in Cebu. They are selling tablea truffles, chocolate cake, hot and cold cocoa, chocolate high tea, cacao nib cookies, and more. The range of products, however, didn’t stop there. At The Chocolate Chamber Boutique, cacao is used for something to consume, an art material, and for skincare.
With a special invitation to have a tour at their boutique, we have a deeper and pure understanding about how every product was made and the encouragement from Cebu’s Chocolate Queen, Ms. Raquel T. Choa, to continue the promotion of cacao products in Cebu City.
Before the end of 2016, she traveled to New York to introduce her chocolate creations. It includes Cacao De Bola, a raw, spherical chocolate ball made of pure ground cacao beans that can be garnished on any dish.
Beyond Cacao
Aside from the Cacao De Bola, Ms. Choa also demonstrated the use of Chocolate Lava, a by-product of pressed and ground cacao beans that can be used for painting as well as skincare.
Batirol: Savor a chocolate-drinking tradition
Named as the Philippines’ Chocolate Queen in 2011 when she opened her first store, Ralfe Gourmet, Ms. Raquel Choa has ventured to open “Batirol“, a chocolate store aimed at reaching the mass market with affordable chocolate drink and other chocolate products. Batirol will also highlight cacao beans coming from different regions of the Philippines.
Her new shop, Batirol (a common kitchen aide used in Mexico, Colombia and the Philippines to prepare chocolate drinks from tablea), is located at The Chocolate Chamber Boutique.
Cacao to Chocolate to Everything
With her hard work and perseverance to continue introducing the existence and the utilization of the raw material to create locally-made products in Cebu, Ms. Raquel Choa, through The Chocolate Chamber Boutique offers art workshops, group tours, and of course, food for takeout.
Choa’s hope is for Filipinos to appreciate the richness of our local products and that we see the value of what we have. Through The Chocolate Chamber, cacao products from Cebu are starting to widespread to the city, its neighboring regions, the country, and the world.
