DPWH Region VII and PLDT Enterprise Revolutionize Connectivity in Central Visayas

PLDT Enterprise, as a leading corporate business arm of PLDT, has equipped DPWH Region VII with iGate and SIP Trunk services, enabling seamless data and voice communications throughout the region. Central Visayas, the fourth largest regional economy in the Philippines, is known for its robust industries, including ICT-enabled services, electronics manufacturing, and tourism. This partnership is poised to support these industries by enhancing government efficiency and service delivery.

PLDT Enterprise’s iGate for Unmatched Bandwidth

PLDT Enterprise’s iGate offers dedicated internet access with guaranteed bandwidth. This service is ideal for bandwidth-intensive applications and mission-critical communications, allowing the DPWH to run online transactions with ease. The increased bandwidth will facilitate real-time updates on infrastructure projects, data sharing, and fast communication between the government and its stakeholders. Moreover, SIP Trunks, essential for businesses with geographically dispersed locations, ensures uninterrupted voice communications for DPWH offices across Central Visayas.

“We partnered with PLDT Enterprise to ensure that we have a stable and dedicated internet connection for all our online transactions. Through this partnership, we will also have a unified communication system that allows our clients to quickly reach us when they need to and allows us to provide the service they deserve promptly,” explained Ernesto Gregorio Jr., former director of DPWH Region VII. His successor, Danilo J. Villa Jr., affirmed his commitment to continuing these initiatives, ensuring that the department achieves its vision of a more efficient government.

Building the Future of Infrastructure in Central Visayas

Central Visayas is a hub of economic and industrial growth, and having a robust communication network is crucial. The integration of PLDT Enterprise’s services into DPWH operations aligns with the government’s vision of building a “Smart City,” ensuring that infrastructure projects are delivered efficiently, further driving regional development.

“We hope to strengthen this partnership across Region VII and, if we are successful, recommend this as a model for other regions,” Villa added.

PLDT Enterprise’s Assistant Vice President, Kent de la Calzada, highlighted that their collaboration with DPWH Region VII is part of a broader mission of nation-building.

“We, at PLDT Enterprise, are committed to helping our customers succeed in their endeavors. And for a government agency like DPWH Region VII, that commitment to succeed is more focused in view of the impact of its various projects on the economy and the lives of the residents of Central Visayas,” de la Calzada noted.

The partnership stands as a blueprint for other regions, setting the standard for how digital solutions can transform government services, boost local economies, and empower public sector agencies to provide world-class services to their citizens.
