Ambassador Saija Numinen officially stepped into her role earlier this year, marking an exciting new chapter for Finland-Philippines relations. She was formally welcomed in Cebu on December 16, 2024, by Honorary Consul Jose Franco Soberano and key members of the local business community at Citadines Cebu.
“The appointment of Ambassador Numinen marks an exciting new chapter for Finnish-Philippine relations. Ambassador Numinen’s diplomatic journey spans over two decades. She previously served as Director of the Personnel Unit at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and held significant posts in embassies across Berlin, Washington, and Geneva, as well as Finland’s Permanent Representation to the EU in Brussels.
A lawyer by profession, Ambassador Numinen’s expertise in international diplomacy is complemented by her passion for sustainable initiatives, making her a valuable asset in strengthening Finland-Philippines relations.
