Darren Jason Watkins Jr., known online as IShowSpeed or Speed recently brought his third Philippine livestream to Cebu City, captivating fans worldwide. In his adventure, IShowSpeed explored the streets of Cebu and shared moments with Filipino content creator Cong TV.
An Insider Look at IShowSpeed on his Visit to Cebu
The visit kicked off with a jeepney ride, a quintessential Filipino experience. Speed even attempted to drive the iconic vehicle but humorously failed, much to the amusement of his viewers. Fans gathered in excitement as Cong TV taught IShowSpeed some Filipino phrases, including the popular “Baby, Kalma!” to help manage the excited crowd.
After their jeepney ride, the duo indulged in local Cebuano delicacies. IShowSpeed tried pusô, a traditional Filipino rice cake cooked in woven palm leaves, and ventured into more exotic territory by sampling lansiao, a rich broth known for its unique flavor and ingredients.
The most talked-about moment, however, was when he tried tuslob buwa, a Cebuano street food dish made from sautéed pig’s liver and brain, mixed with garlic, onions, shrimp paste, and chili. Speed dipped his pusô into the bubbling concoction, initially unaware of its ingredients, leading to an unforgettable reaction.
The adventure didn’t end there. IShowSpeed took a thrilling helicopter ride to Tops Cebu, a popular mountain tourist destination offering panoramic views of the city. At the peak, he engaged in traditional Filipino barrio games, with fans cheering him on.
One of the most memorable scenes involved Speed’s determined attempt to climb a slippery bamboo pole, a challenge to capture the Philippine flag at the top. Despite his valiant effort, he couldn’t reach the flag, leaving fans entertained.
The livestream wrapped up with a stunning fireworks display over Cebu, marking a spectacular conclusion to Speed’s Cebu adventure. Fans were left buzzing with excitement, eagerly awaiting his next escapade.
