UNICEF responds to COVID-19, appeals to support the global outbreak response
UNICEF is working to address the global outbreak, focusing on countries that have weak public health infrastructure or social support systems. They are working closely with the World Health Organization, local governments, and other UN agencies, by focusing on the following:
– Facilitating risk communication and community engagement activities, including community-based communication, mass media, and social media;
– Providing critical hygiene and medical supplies for health care and education facilities, including psychosocial support; and
– Ensuring continued access to education where schools may be closed or quarantines imposed.
UNICEF is opening a donation drive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) global campaign. For a ₱2,000 donation, the donor can support alternative learning opportunities and psychosocial support for children who can’t go to school. A ₱3,000 donation can help provide critical medical supplies and water, sanitation and hygiene supplies and services. A ₱5,000 can help raise public awareness on prevention and preparedness for COVID-19 in high-risk countries.
A donor can also help by donating any amount to UNICEF COVID-19 Global Response via this link. A donor can choose from the following financial channels:
