But yet, it’s NOT always fun.

Every summer, we have this dilemma of being sick or bored because we fear this one thing we really don’t like getting during summer. And we are always cautious about it when the summer sun is here.

Some of us are prone to sunburn (even though we’re not overly exposed to the sun’s heat). It’s the hot air or the radiation. We are not sure, though. Probably our physicians can tell us.

Apply topical treatments. Sunblock or sunscreen is a must this summer. But before you spread out those creams over your face and body, I think you need to talk to your dermatologist for a recommendation. Another way to soothe your sunburn-stricken skin is to apply aloe vera gels and ointment to lessen the burning sensation.

Drink plenty of water. Sunburn can be draining and dehydrating. So, this summer, aim to intake 8 glasses of water every day. When you’re having fun outside, always have your favorite water bottle so you can just gulp to replenish and re-hydrate, and refill is just so easy.

Get ready an umbrella. It’s not because it will rain (or probably it will. The weather is unpredictable), but it’s a protection not just for your skin but for your whole body. Carry with you that small to medium-sized umbrella that you can put in your bag. But the bigger, and the wider, the better.

Stay indoors. When it’s summer, it doesn’t mean you really need to go outside and have fun under the sun. You can also enjoy the environment at home watching TV with the kids or play board games. You can go to the nearest grocery and buy ice cream for you and your family. The kids will love you.
