Cebu is getting ready for a cashless payment system with GCash. Expanding its reach to more than 50 stores at the Ayala Center Cebu, shoppers may use their GCash App scan-to-pay feature for their purchases. As a part of its goal to encourage and fully implement an inclusive cashless payment system, GCash, a mobile wallet service from Globe Telecom, has expanded its availability to Cebu and boosted its usage starting with the Ayala Center Cebu.

Around 100 stores are expected to embrace cashless transactions before the year ends. This cashless payment option permits shoppers to conduct transactions easier and faster, giving them the capability to shop and dine with only the GCash App on hand while they use their smartphones.

Some of the noted establishments at Ayala Center Cebu that are now accepting GCash include Abaca Baking Company, Bo’s Coffee, Casa Verde, Chika-an, Rose Pharmacy, among others.

Download the app on your smartphone and start shopping

To avail of the service, shoppers simply need to download the mobile app on their smartphones and refill (cash-in) their GCash wallet at any Globe store or selected over-the-counter partner outlets. Once funds are loaded into their mobile app wallet, a customer may then swipe to the left of their mobile app screen or choose the “Pay QR” option. Then, activate the “Scan QR” and point the smartphone’s rear camera at the merchant’s assigned QR code to scan.

They can also pay utility bills and send money through the mobile app. They can now experience the cashless payment system and enjoy a lot of perks once the mobile app is used.

Shoppers can also check and view their transactions through the GCash App, allowing them to carefully monitor their spending. The mobile app users can also check their balance through the mobile app or by calling 2882 using their Globe mobile number and talking to a customer service agent.
