These trends prompted the Ceylanka Trading, Inc. to launch a tea retail chain in the Philippines.
Island Tea Co. serves the finest tea in Cebu
The Island Tea Co., which serves pure Ceylon tea, aims to be one of the first tea retail chains to serve high-end luxury teas at a very affordable price. Commencing from Cebu, they plan to aggressively expand the chain of stores nationwide. On October 25, 2017, a tea appreciation party and press conference was held at their shop at the Ground Floor of Robinsons Cybergate Cebu.
Ms. Aileen Arellano, President of Ceylanka Trading, Inc., expressed how happy the company is to be able to present the products and services they offer to the Cebuanos and to the Filipinos in general, affordable yet high-luxury teas in the Philippines.
As they formally opened their store at the Robinsons Cybergate Complex, partners from Abacus Tea of Sri Lanka presented the many new tea flavors, including fruit-flavored teas, iced teas, shakes, tea mocktails and healthy tea options. In 2012, Abacus Tea was happy to announce that they were the supplier of the teas prepared for the Diamond Jubilee Banquet of H.R.H. Queen Elizabeth II.
They take pride in being a preferred tea supplier to the world, with exports in loose leaf and tea bags reaching as far as the United States, Canada, England, Austria, New Zealand, Russia, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, Australia and Saudi Arabia.

The Island Tea Co. opens its store to the general public this October and its shop is currently located at the Ground Floor, Robinsons Cybergate Complex, Cebu City. They will soon open another branch in Cebu this December at SM City Cebu.
